Project
information
Number of
working days: 5
Working
languages: English
Number of
participants: 40
Aims:
It is our aim to gather participants
of different age, experience and background and ensure the input from women and
man coming from the minorities, successful business, politics, home and
education in order to:
Learn more about their life, situation, prospect and the
level of self-realisation in society in order to have ground for further input
from the participants
Distinguish the differences and find common grounds from
which the problems occur and the stereotypes arise so we can establish an
overall picture of the state of society
Discuss about the measure of success – what is the road to
success and how the gender impact this path; how young people can promote equal
opportunity and find the common path that will erase discrimination
Find out the weather raising a family stands in the conflict
with carrier realisation, is this a choice that HAS to be made or it is
possible nowadays for a women to be successful in both
Determine the impact of education and family in the creation
of gender roles and stereotypes in order to develop practical methods to tackle
the early discrimination rooted in many of the societies in eastern Europe
Finally, we aim to study position of man in all of these
levels of life and the mechanism that can enable them to understand the
situation better, recognise the problems and react properly and hearten
equality
Objectives:
This seminar will raise the ground
for development of the new approach to the current situation related to gender
that we have developed following up the existing work in the past. The “ladder
of inequality” is following the progress of the women in the society from home,
school (education), work, decision making (politics, business, schooling) and
public life.
In Eastern
Europe woman is traditionally placed in a narrow circle of her
home and family; choosing to follow her ambitions she is often considered with
a negative connotation and different standards than men. By exchanging
experiences from different societies through the cultural milieu we wish to
find means for preventing these social problems to occur.
Special consideration will be given
to cultural approach to the role of women, rural and urban aspect and the
position of women from minorities.
Methodology/program:
We will
arrange lectures, workshops, discussion groups, panel debates, educational
games, role play and the study visit to local organisations. Through different
program elements we want to give opportunity to participants to learn about
cultural and political differences and to develop approach to program elements
which will ensure equal opportunities for all. To ensure follow-up we will
create report and social committee so participants are able to be active part
of seminar. We will produce photos, videos and texts that can be further used.
