What is CDN?
Cooperation and Development Network Eastern Europe AISBL (CDN) is a network of Green youth organisations from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe as well as the Caucasus. The network supports the development, cooperation and exchange of knowledge among Green youth organisations and aims at enlarging the field of political work for Greens in Europe. Currently CDN has sixteen Member Organisations, six Partner Organisations and Cooperation Agreement with one organisation.
CDN's main aims are:
• Promoting ecology (in the broad sense of the term: the environment, social and political ecology) and sustainability among European young people, using all available non-violent means
• Encouraging the realisation of studies and reflections on different forms on ecology (in the broad sense of the term) by young democratic people from all over Europe with focus on Eastern Europe (European non-EU countries) • Gathering young people living in different European countries, recognising and promoting the dialogue on cultural similarities and differences • Co-ordinating common actions of member organisations toward development and cooperation aiming to bring young Europeans closer together • Promoting common Green political aims on international level • Protecting human rights, minority rights, gender equality and democracy as well as democratic ways of working • Promoting sustainable development in Eastern Europe
CDN organises different activities including seminars, study sessions, trainings, summer camps, strategy planning meetings and regional meetings.
The Call
The Executive Committee of CDN is announcing a call for a member of the Secretariat. The Secretariat consists of two members, who are appointed officers and legal representatives of CDN AISBL. They are responsible to the Executive Committee. The mandate period will be decided by the Executive Committee, after a probation period of 3 months.
Secretariat tasks include:
• Daily management of the CDN AISBL office (currently operating from Serbian Young Greens office, Belgrade, Serbia), including the financial management, and assisting the Executive Committee.
• The development, fundraising, organization, implementation of CDN initiatives, projects and statutory meetings, such as seminars, conferences, working group meetings, exchanges, trainings and General Assemblies.
• Following events in Green politics at the European level in order to serve as a resource for CDN Networking and general work.
• Maintaining contact with member and partner organisations as well as external partners.
• Supervising the external communication, including the website and various online tools.
Being member of the Secretariat of CDN is a highly demanding position, requiring excellent organisational skills as well as substantial knowledge of Green politics, the context of Eastern Europe and youth positions in European non-EU countries.
We are looking for someone with the following profile:
• Substantial experience in a Young Green organisation and/or good knowledge of CDN.
• Additional experience in youth and voluntary organisations or NGOs will be considered as an advantage, especially when on an international level.
• Excellent written and spoken English, working knowledge of either Dutch or French is a strong asset.
• Excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and to work under high pressure and tight deadlines.
• Good communication and diplomacy skills, ability to lobby and to work in an international environment.
• Ability to take initiative and to work in a multi-cultural team.
• Experience in human resources management is an asset.
• Knowledge of basic accounting is an asset.
• Computer skills including using of free software (OoO, ubuntu, joomla, etc..) is an asset.
• Willingness to engage in frequent travel, to have flexible working hours – long working days and work during the weekends.
• Interest in and knowledge of the European institutions, and awareness of youth policy and environmental, gender, migration and human rights issues.
• Preferably younger than 30 years old.
• Available to live in Belgrade, Serbia.

Further stages of the recruitment procedure:
The Executive Committee of CDN will select shortlisted candidates and have a Skype meeting with them. The final selection will be done until 1st of November 2011.
