Green Ukraine 2017

After the series of events started in 2016 with the long-term goal to enhance the Green Movement in  by developing the Green vision among the wider youth in the region, CDN continues with a new series of activities towards the same goal. By establishing a connection between young, Green-minded people and organisations in Ukraine and the RUMB (Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus) region, by deepening the understanding of Green values and connecting Green activism to Green politics, we are going to create a platform for young activists to examine the ways of influencing certain policies in an inclusive, green, and democratic manner in local and regional contexts.

Activity 1: Green Training

Where: Kiev
Date: 15-18 September
Duration: 3 full working days
Participants: 25 young people from Ukraine + Belarus and Moldova
Team: CDN/green activists from the region
How: trough interactive workshops and lectures, based on non-formal education
Language: Russian/English

Objectives of the activity:

  • Deepen the understanding of Green values and Green Idea in the region
  • Explore the ways connecting Green activism to Green Politics
  • Formulate follow-up cooperative projects, topics
  • Create a platform for further communication among activists

Activity 2: Greening Policies

Where: Ukraine (place to be confirmed)
Date: November (to be decided by the prep-team)
Duration: 3 full working days
Participants: 25 young people from Ukraine + Belarus and Moldova
Team: CDN/green activists from the region
How: trough interactive workshops and lectures, based on non-formal education
Language: Russian/English

Objectives of the activity:

  • Explore networking as important part of growing movement
  • Examine the ways of influencing policy
  • Develop an action plan for future bilateral or multilateral cooperation

Methodology:

The program of both activities will be based on the principles of non-formal education and inter-cultural learning. We strive for active, inclusive and direct communication and transfer of knowledge. Sessions will be balanced between theoretical inputs, workshops, role-plays, debates, discussions, reflections and other interactive methods of learning.
