ASHD: Post Rio+20 process in Armenia

Association for Sustainable Human Development has recently been working on enabling dialogue between governmental structures and non-governmental sector within the framework of the “Post Rio+20” process in Armenia.
The primary objective of the  activity was to enable adequate environment for ensuring efficient ASHD2 15involvement of national NGO sector into the work of the Interdepartmental Commission, established for implementations of the recommendations of “Rio+20” Summit, particularly in working out the national strategic document – National Program “Post-Rio+20” for 2015-2025 on implementation of “Rio+20”.

During the project implementation, the members of Commission  got acquaintance with international experience and best national practice related to elaboration of the strategy and policy in the field of environmental sustainability and development. The representatives of both governmental and non- governmental sectors through collaborative work  enriched each other, contributed their relative experience, and it was effective basis for successful implementation of their mission – elaboration of national strategic document – draft National Program “Post-Rio+20”.

Georgian Young Greens: South Caucasus regional meeting

Georgian Young Greens held the annual regional meeting with participants from the Southern-Caucasus region. The meeting aimed to strengthen the cooperation in the region ageygnd to support each other in their political struggle.

The main theme was regional activism and how political participation works in the different countries in the region. The group consisted of activists from Azerbaijan and Armenia where activists face suppression from the government as well as activists from Georgia where democracy has made it easier to get your voice heard, but where it is still hard for green voices be heard in the mainstream public space.
