Cooperation and Development Network Eastern Europe is announcing a call for participants for “I know, therefore I act! Information War and Youth Participation”, that will take place in Ukraine from 24th to 30th of April 2016. Looking at the case of Ukraine and integrating experiences from Belarus and Azerbaijan, we will explore mechanisms of the Information War and their effects on youth participation.
Green Academy 2016 with main topic – “Information War” was organized by Belarus Young Greens and Cooperation and Development Network Eastern Europe with the support of Green Forum Sweden during 15th – 17th January 2016 in Lviv, Ukraine. During 3 days 20 participants from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Russia gathered to explore media and its influence on mass-consciousness. The program tackled mechanisms of propaganda, starting with historical perspective, its development, and emphasis on consequences and effects on people’s conscious (hate speech, empathy, polarization of society, marking people), finishing with present initiatives – what is currently being done and what are the possible ways to combat it. Cooperation and Development Network Eastern Europe is announcing a call for members of the international preparatory team for the seminar “I know, therefore I act! Information War and Youth Participation”. It is a seven days long seminar for 40 young Europeans about information war, propaganda, freedom of media and right to access information. The seminar will take place in Ukraine 24-30th of April 2016. The call is open for active, young people, who share the Green values, coming from Council of Europe member states, Belarus, Kosovo and Kazakhstan.

“I know, therefore I act! Information War and Youth Participation” is a seven days long seminar for 40 young Europeans about information war, propaganda, freedom of media and right to access information. The seminar will take place in Ukraine from 24th to 30th of April 2016.
We want to gather young activists from Europe and raise awareness on ongoing information wars around us. On the example of Ukraine and by sharing experiences from Belarus and Azerbaijan we will explore its mechanisms and effects on youth participation. We want to explore how youth activists manage to stay relevant and express their message, how can we protect ourselves from the deceptive information and raise awareness in our own organizations and communities. We see this event as another step in building up ways and means of democratic citizenship and strengthening international cooperation among young people. Continue reading
Cooperation and Development Network held its Second Strategy Planning Meeting in Belgrade, from 1st to 3rd October. We gathered representatives of Member and Partner organizations and Working group. For two days SPM delegates discussed different aspects of CDN work, internal and external cooperation and communication, action plans. This meeting was a starting point to new Strategy statement, that next General Assembly should vote upon, for period of 2015-2018.
