Call for Prep Team Members - “Canvas of Change” Study Session
The call for Prep Team members for the Study Session “Canvas of Change - Youth, Culture, and Political Participation” is now open!
The Study Session, jointly organised by CDN and FYEG will take place from 29 September to 4 October in European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, France.
The first prep team meeting will take place on 13 and 14 June also in European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, France and the applicants must be available to attend this meeting.
This event aims to raise awareness of green and progressive European youth about the role art and culture have in shaping political processes and empower 35 young people to use creativity and innovation for activism, political participation, fight against discrimination, and creation of sustainable and inclusive future of European societies.
We will achieve this through meeting the following objectives:
1. To equip participants with knowledge about the historical and political dimensions of art and culture, with a focus on diverse European cultural heritage including heritage of underprivileged communities.
2. To inspire creativity and innovation through exploration of imaginative and artistic approaches to activism and political engagement.
3. To encourage green youth of Europe to integrate artistic and cultural approaches to their future organisational processes and youth projects related to political participation and antidiscrimination.
4. To encourage intercultural dialogue between European communities, with reflection on their geographical, historical, political, and social diversity of heritage
If you are young person aged 16-35 from a Member State of the Council of Europe plus Belarus, Holy See, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Kosovo* (national or resident) and you are interested in the topic of the event, we invite you to apply to be a member of this preparatory team.
Prep Team members should:
have a working level knowledge of English,
be familiar with non-formal education methods and session facilitation,
have some experience with international events, either as participants or organisers,
have some experience in using art and culture as a tool for societal change,
be active in their local communities
be available during the preparation and realisation period (June-October),
be responsible about fulfilling their tasks,
have good organisational skills,
be a team players,
be committed to the aims of the project and CDN, FYEG, and CoE values
We especially encourage young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and communities to apply to be a part of our Prep Team.
Main responsibilities of the prep-team include:
Participation in a two-day live prep team meeting in Strasbourg on 13 and 14 June (2 full working days), with arrival day as 12 and departure day as 15 of June;
Active participation in the regular (weekly or bi-weekly) online meetings prior to the event (June-September / 2-3 h a week);
Preparation and facilitation of the program of the event; designing and preparing sessions based on non-formal education methodology, invitation and communication with speakers, experts, and partners in accordance with the Study Session aims (4-6 h a week);
Dissemination of the call and selection of participants, preparation of participants for the event and providing them with all the necessary information regarding the program;
Helping with the promotion of the event and ensuring social media visibility;
Taking care of practicalities and of the general well-being of the participants during the event;
Full participation during the entire event and prep team meeting before and evaluation meeting after the event,
Helping with the reporting of the event.

Practicalities:
Accommodation, food, working space, travel, and visa costs for the preparatory team will be fully covered.
For selection of travel means for both Prep Team meeting and the activity, the condition is to combine the most economic and environmentally friendly way (lowest price + travel time + CO2 emissions).
More information about travel regulations will be shared upon acceptance.
