Council of Members Elections 2026/2027

Following the adoption of the new Internal Rules of Procedure (IRPs) at the CDN General Assembly 2026 in Riga, CDN is launching the extraordinary election process for the Council of Members (CoM) structures for the 2026/2027 mandate.
This process is conducted in line with Resolution R-INT1 on the transitional election procedure for the Council of Members.
According to the IRPs, the Council of Members is the second-highest political body of CDN and ensures continuity of political action and decision-making between sessions of the General Assembly.

Registration of Representatives
Each Member Organisation should register one representative to the Council of Members. Every MO should select its own representative by the deadline.
The delegate participates in the work of the Council of Members on behalf of their Member Organisation and contributes to the political direction, continuity, and strategic discussions of the network between sessions of the General Assembly. Delegates take part in discussions, consultations, and decision-making processes within the Council of Members, while also ensuring communication and coordination between their Member Organisation and the wider work of CDN.
Registration should be completed via email to office@cdnee.org, with nenad@cdnee.org included in Cc. The email should be titled: “Registration of Representative – NAME OF THE MEMBER ORGANISATION”.
The following information should be submitted:
Full name, surname, and pronouns of the delegate
Contact details of the delegate (Telegram username and email address)
An official letter signed by the competent authority of the respective Member Organisation confirming the appointment of the delegate as its representative

Co-Chairpersons of the Council
Two Co-Chairpersons of the Council of Members will be selected during the first Council of Members meeting.
According to the IRPs, the Co-Chairpersons are responsible for:
convening and moderating meetings,
ensuring proper documentation and follow-up of decisions,
and procedural management of the Council’s work.
The Co-Chairpersons must be gender balanced and must be members of the Member organisations.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their candidacies via LINK, and their candidacies should contain the following:

Vision Statement - Outlining the candidate’s motivation for the position, relevant experience, and vision for the work and development of the Council of Members during the 2026/2027 mandate

Chairing Member Organisation and Annual Agenda
One Member Organisation will be selected during the first Council of Members meeting as the Chairing Member Organisation of the Council of Members for the 2026/2027 mandate.
According to the IRPs, the presiding Member Organisation is responsible for setting the political agenda and defining priorities for the work of the Council of Members.
Interested Member Organisations are invited to submit their candidacies via LINK, and their candidacies should contain the following:
their candidacy as Chairing Member Organisation,
a proposal of the Annual Agenda for the 2026/2027 mandate,
and to prepare a first Topical Discussion.
For the 2026/2027 mandate, as per the Activity Plan, the overarching focus of the network will be biodiversity.
Accordingly, the proposed Annual Agenda (max 1000 words) and political priorities are expected to be connected to the overarching topic of biodiversity while incorporating all pillars of the CDN Political Platform, namely:
Democracy,
Foreign policy and security,
Climate and environment,
Economy
Social rights.
