We demand freedom for the Turkish LGBTQIA+ community!

We stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ activists, human rights defenders and civil society organisations targeted by the latest wave of repression in Türkiye.

The coordinated raids, arrests and restrictions targeting LGBTQIA+ people and organisations are not legitimate measures to protect families or children. They are an assault on fundamental freedoms, designed to intimidate a community, dismantle independent civil society and criminalise those who refuse to remain silent.

We demand the immediate and unconditional release of all LGBTQIA+ activists and human rights defenders detained in these operations, and an immediate end to the harassment and persecution of LGBTQIA+ organisations.

The Erdoğan government must be held accountable for using state institutions, law enforcement and the judiciary to suppress LGBTQIA+ existence and legitimate civil society activity.

LGBTQIA+ people have the right to organise, assemble, speak openly and live freely without fear of state repression.

Release the activists. End the repression. Hold the Erdoğan regime accountable.
